Job Description: Teacher
Overview:
A teacher is an integral person in our growing school
community. He or she is responsible for the direct
spiritual, moral, intellectual, emotional, social and
physical development of the students. Emphasis is
placed on the formation of students who demonstrate
character, leadership and service for others. A
teacher works closely with school staff, volunteers,
families and members of the community to ensure the overall
success of each student.
Responsibilities:
Administrative:
•Work closely with the Principal to establish and refine a
challenging curriculum.
•Assist in developing and implementing school policies and
standards which protect, ensure and develop the general
welfare of the students.
•Assist in long range planning of the school.
•Communicate student progress with school staff, families
and students.
•Actively participate in regularly scheduled conferences
with parents/guardians.
•Actively participate in all faculty meetings, retreats and
in-service days.
Leadership
•Provide a visible role model for the Lasallian mission of
the school by emphasizing the development and education of
the whole person.
•Assist in establishing a school culture emphasizing
academic success, community, service to others and
character growth.
•Provide direct leadership in anticipating and responding
to student needs.
Instructional:
•Foster an environment supportive of academic success.
•Foster student unity and teamwork.
•Assist in the creation and implementation of curriculum.
•Create short and long term lesson plans based on
curriculum.
•Integrate technology into classroom instruction.
•Integrate the outdoors, especially Glacier Nat’l Park and
Blackfeet Reservation into classroom instruction.
*Remain professionally up to date in areas of instruction
through conferences, workshops, further education, etc…

•Be formally and informally observed.
•Ensure that absolutely NO student fails.
•Supervise homework period.
Service/Activity
•Participation in enrichment, service projects, athletics
and school events.
•Oversee and coordinate extra curricular events.
•Assist in planning and participation of year end retreat
for specific grade.
•Be responsible for an equal portion of school maintenance
duties.
